Our use of Naviance, a web-based college counseling and application tool, allows students and families the ability to streamline the college research and application process. In addition, all VIth formers regularly participate in class, small group and individual sessions with our College Counselors as well as visiting professionals from colleges and universities to guide them in managing the application process, formulating application strategies, producing personal timelines and writing the application essay, as well as all aspects of financial aid and NCAA eligibility. Group sessions also help them with all aspects of standardized test preparation (SAT, ACT, SAT II and TOEFL). Beginning in January, our counselors also meet individually and in groups with the Vth form to begin the college application process.
Parents are kept closely involved with their child’s college application process both through the Family Connection function in Naviance as well as being sent a personalized summary of their child’s preliminary list in the third trimester of his or her Vth form year along with an informational packet explaining all aspects of the college application process.
