Hoosac School Hires Georgetown Grad Emily Durst as Director of TESOL

HOOSICK, NY - Hoosac School is Proud to Announce the Hiring of Emily Durst, Director of TESOL

Emily Durst hails from Woodstock, CT and has taught ESL/EFL and academic writing at UCONN and abroad. She graduated from Pomfret School and earned her BA in Philosophy from Georgetown and her MA TESOL from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. In 2018, she served as the US Dept. of State's inaugural English Language Fellow at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa, where she trained pre-service teachers. She has also taught in California, China, and Saudi Arabia.

Emily's hobbies include stalking cheap airfares to exotic locales and walking long, often strenuous distances of increasing elevation in sturdy boots. This summer she has taken advantage of being home in New England to revisit Mt. Wachusett (2,005 ft), Mt. Monadnock (3,166 ft), Mt. Moosilauke (4,803 ft), and Mt. Cardigan (3,156 ft), so far.
