Graftonians Prevail in ASADO Day 2018
Rain or shine, ASADO Day festivities happen each May, signaling the final weeks before Prize Day and Commencement. This year was no different... as less than optimal weather did not slow down the Hoosac community from heading to Grafton Lakes State Park for an afternoon of friendly yet fierce Antonian and Graftonian competition.
Tug of war, relay races, egg tosses and pie eating competitions among other games helped each team to enter the last event of the day with an equal amount of points, but in the end it was the Graftonians who brought home the victory after winning a soaking wet game of Simon Says that began with more than 30 players and was whittled down to one Antonian and one Graftonian.
As the competitions roared on at Grafton Lakes, the ceremonial fire was burning at Hoosac School as Chef Fabian spent 8 hours cooking the traditional lamb and chickens while roasting an an array of different vegetables over the open pit.
Dinner services began with the presentation of Prefects and Proctors for next Fall, and a buffet of all the delicious food made during the day was served to all students and guests in attendance. As the meal drew to a close, musical performances dazzled the crowd with covers of songs by Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars and Brittany Spears. Multiple standing ovations were given at the end of the performances and the entire group of performers gave a bow. What a day!
